Default SRS and Horn Problem

I took my fugly blue dash out to paint it black and in the process I dropped the steering column and disconnected the SRS. After reassembling everything the car drives fine but the SRS light is on and the horn wont work. Any ideas? Are they on the same fuse. I dont know cuase i dont have the fuse cover.

Also, when first driving there was a loud clicking that sounded like something was dragging right behind the steering wheel. T=hat has since stopped. I took apart the cover behind the wheel and found no connector that I missed. Im clueless

from my understanding, if you disconnect any part of the SRS system while the battery is connected, it'll mess it up and the light will come on. I did the same thing a LONG time ago and I never did figure out how to reset the system.

If you figure it out, let me know. I have a similar thread going on this forum too.

sounds like you broke the spiral ribbon cable that connects the airbag/cruise controls buttons/horn button. otherewise known as the "clock Spring" probably rotated the clock spring one revolution in either direction would ruin it. Expensive part, dont ask me how I know.

I gotta ask, so you take the plug from the fuse box (the mes connector) and plug that into your service connector? So, you're just using an extension from one side of the car to the other? Just making sure I'm not smoking crack. Lord knows, it don't smoke itself.

You don't do anything to the service connector by the ECM. That pic is just there to show you what the SCS plug looks like. You use the SCS plug(or a paperclip) to jump the MES connector.

AHHHHHHH! Now I get it. Never had a problem with my srs before. Most of my knowledge comes from my car, and friend's cars falling apart, and having to fix it.
