Default diagnostics Code troubleshooting

Im needing some help. Last night coming from work i was kinda was pushing my car hard, and the check engine light come on. 5 secs later the oil light flashes. sence I get off work at 2am I checked the car out this morrning and i like almost have No oil at all! Then i check the code i throw and it was a code 22 "Variable Valve Timing and control pressure switch" what exacly does this mean? I went ahead and put 3 bodles of oil in then started the car i let it get to its normal temp and check everything out and every thing seemed fine till i went to the rear of my car and saw Black stuff shotting out my muffler. You think i messed something up with the motor. my oil was charged not too long ago and ive never had a problem with burning and oil before.......

the code is for the vtec oil pressure sensor, since you said you had no oil in the engage, that could set off the code for it if you were trying to engine vtec...fill it back up, reset the ecu, pull neg battery cable for like 30 sec.

im not sure about the black smoke, maybe a blown piston ring? and oil just burning through it

black smoke usually means running rich. if your ecu was in limp mode it would run hella rich. reset the ecu and then see if it's still smoking.
