Default top end help..

i have a mini-me in my ek.. i want to make my top end better.. what upgrades can i do take me my top end better.. some one told me about advancing or retarding my timing.. ne one know a cheap and easy way to make my car faster thanks.

research. I would worry about retarding or advancing timing unless you have a little more engine work and your getting it tuned.
What do you have so far? Start with basic bolt ons.

if you advance your timing would it mess with the top end of rpms??

you need a cam, valvetrain, and the bottom end balanced to generate power in the higher rpms, without losing realiability.

well right now i gotta y8 head on a y7 block SI tranny and im running a chipped p08(jdm sohc vtec) ecu no rev limi. and vtec kicks in at about 4800.. intake and xhaust.. what cams r the best... im thinkin ebay.. n e one lmk...

Single cams are whimpy naturally asparated. Upgrading your valve train, getting a cam and a gear will only get you maybe 15whp for the 800 or so dollars you would have to spend. The only cost effective way to make power on single cams is either a bottle of nitrous for about 350$ or a turbo setup for 1000-5000$.

and even then, that shitty y7 block just isnt gonna be up for alot of power. Boost on a smaller turbo, like a t25 or 14b or a smaller t3 and a modest set up and you could probably get 200hp safly. You can make the kit pretty easily for about 1000-1500 depending how much you buy new

cheap and easy=nitrous. but its also dangerous if u dont know what ur doing
some ones sig has in it (cheap,reliable,fast) you only get 2
