if you want bolt on power from a b16, hang it up...but if you want to crack the valvecover and do a springs/retainer/cam upgrade, and put bolt ons on you can do what you are asking for... I have a friend with a STOCK b16 with i/h/e on it in a 93 hatch, it runs 14.5 all day... The most crucial part to hp and torque numbers in a close to stock form is tuning and mainly header...if there is nothing that you buy that is really nice in your build, atleast make the header a very nice pick...

A 4-1 header is for more power in higher RPM's;
A 4-2-1 header is for more power in lower/mid range RPM's.

Which side of the band you want to be on is your preferance.

this is TOTAL bs...there are too many header makers out there that make 4-2-1 headers that create power from 2k on... anyhow, no dc is probably the crappiest header maker, you want a header like a rage motorsports header...go to kteller.com they sell this header as well as the exhaust piping, flanges and all of that good stuff that you need in order to let this motor flow like it needs to... get 2.5 inch exhaust straight through.

forget NA, for the money it will cost you to make 300hp NA you could spend half that and be making 300hp on the stock block with a turbo set up.

That is not BS. While not every header fits into what I stated, most do. Generally 4-1 is for higher end power, and 4-2-1 is for lower end.

By low end I do not mean 2000RPM or less. That's like saying "yeah, my header is great for idle and 0-10 foot times."

I think I'll do that,you do have a point,the only thing I'm worried about is blowing the engine,or the pistons,which I've read a lot about and heard from other people with stock b16's.

You dont have to worry about blowing anything so long as you get a good tune, and make sure your using reliable fuel managment

Really not special maintenence having a turbo. keep track of your oil, maybe check your clamps, other then that maintenenence is no different then with out a turbo
