Default B16 swap - some questions

Wow it's been a while since i've posted here...here it goes.

Current set-up:

1998 Civic Coupe DX
B16a swap
OBD1 P72(GSR i think) computer
Exeddy clutch
Apexi WS exhaust (catless)
AEM cai

The motor runs good, pulls pretty hard. Few problems though. First off, whenever I start the car up when it hasnt been started in over 6-7 hours it has a lot of trouble getting started, it kinda sputters around 500 rpm then stalls if i dont give it gas, after about 10 seconds of reving it a little it'll stay running on its own but will bogg out a low rpms until the motor warms up a little. However it pulls very well and is very smooth (although no VTEC).

Once the motor is warmed up, it idles perfect but as it goes through the rpms i notice it hesitates, i can hear it studder a bit and feel the cars momentum change (particularly around 3000-4000 and 6500-7000). It still pulls well and vtec works fine.

I have replaced the battery and am about to replace the fuel filter. The plugs and wires have been replaced and the wiring has been checked over and over (by the shop that did the swap) I was wondering what could be causing these issues.

Im thinking it could the the P72 computer, I am currently looking for the correct computer (which is a P30? I beleive) in hopes that it will solve the issue. Also I thought maybe its a bad sensor, but it isnt throwing any codes.

The shop that did the swap said that the P32 they had threw a code when they put it in and it ran like shit until it got to VTEC. Their words, not mine.

Any tips or ideas would be great, Im about to call another shop to have them look at it, so any more info I could get would be awesome.

Sorry for the long post!

P30 is the correct ECU. P28 is out of a single cam VTEC. The ECU is probably why the car is acting so shitty. There's a few threads on here with peopel who use the wrong ecu with the wrong motor and it ran like crap.

Yes the p28 is for the single cam vtec motors. It has to be reburned for use with dohc vtec apps. If it isnt the ecu then swap out the cap and rotor. Check fuel pump to see if it is good. Check the timing. make sure the injectors are working properly.

throw the p30 back in that the shop had, and then figure out what was throwing the code.

That shop obviously doesn't know much if they throw the incorrect ecu in because of fault codes.
