Default Civic Pricing Question

New poster, so please point me in the right direction if I'm out of line here...

Looking at buying a new civic LX automatic sedan for my kids. Any insight on sticker price? I've got an "on the road" offer on the table for 17,400 (tax/title/processing/destination fees included). Is that a good offer?

im assuming thats an 06? and how old are your kids first time drivers, girls? that price sounds about right but remember higher end models arent that much more and resale will be higher on them, also a manual trans will cut cost and be more effiecent and last longer than an auto.

My friend got Civic 06 EX AT. It was $19800 out of door.
I also got the same price from other dealer but I changed my mind and bought different car. You can visit http://www.carbuyingtips.com/
Read it all. It is a lot of reading and lots of information but you will be more confident in negotiations with dealers.

My dad just picked up an EX fully loaded for slightly under 19. And when you think about everything else you get, it is really a good deal to go with the EX.

www.edmunds.com

Build the same car with their configuration tool and it will tell you invoice, MSRP and an estimate of street price based on reports from other buyers. It's a pretty useful tool.

I just bought an 03 Civic LX Coupe with 43K on it for 14,000 (CAD). Mine is a Manual Transmission. I love it...nice upgrade from a 97 Corolla. Just wish it had the same horsepower as the EX (since they are both 1.7).

To get a black book value, I usually go to www.toyota.ca and price a vehicle. You should see an option to get the black book value of a vehicle for trade in. You should be able to find a similar site if you are not in Canada.
