#11
hey thx ppl! After hearing that if someone runs into me, i can be at fault...i've decided not to do it. Im just gonna change the yellow part of the lgiht. I saw this product on ebay....they sell a plastic (red) that is already cut and ready to cover the yellow portion of the light. Thanks alot for the advice tho.!

i know a friend...(honestly it wasnt me) that put a stocking over the rear light to give it a smoked effect. yes...i said that correctly...a ladies stocking. the worst part was when the car got dusty....he would have to snap the stocking to get off the dust. you never noticed that it was nylon that made it look darker...it was such fine woving that you really couldnt tell.

Instead of that $30 paint, you can go to your local hobby or craft store and get
Testors "Transparent Candy Apple Red" model paint for $3.99. I have used it quite a few times on many lights and it works well.

looks cool, but I think the point they were trying to make is that when you modify your lenses, they are no longer DOT certified, and having non DOT certified brake lights when in a rear ending accident can put you at fault. However, that is if they notice that you darkened your lenses. Cus if you get hit hard enough, they will shatter into peices anyway.
