Well currently i'm running the silverstars and have been told its like "the sun" when i'm following someone, but I have been on the highway and have seen bulbs that wern't HID but seemed much brighter and dispersed much nicer onto the roadway.

I'm not sure if it was one of those bulbs that are running like 100 watts or something..

Just curious if anyone might know what i should look for?

you want to stay in the 4500-5500k range. anything higher will hinder visability on halogens.

my opinion is with most other in this thread....i had the immatation"hid" bulbs...i was real careful even when installing and they burned out the night i had them, plus you couldnt even tell the difference..."hid" bulbs=waste of money, my advice, save up and get an HID kit for like 250-300$ they are quality and actually ARE better than regular bulbs.

Not only are they illegal(not DOT approved) but they tend to not last very long.
I have heard the same thing about the silverstars, but from my expericence i have had no problems with them, i guess it is hit or miss.
light output is pretty good but DANG are they expensive and i have not had good luck with them. burned out both within 6 mos and the next set within the next 6 mos. back to el-cheapo bulbs untill i get hid. its really the only way to go. at the rate i was going with silverstars i made it a 1/4 of the way to a set of hid's in money spent on bulbs that just burn out.

wrong.

Hid kits may appear to loght the road better, but they create A LOT of glare toward opposing traffic.

El cheapo bulbs are ricey and pretty low class.Plus they tend to attract police and for the most part are not legal.

I've had silverstars last well over a year without a problem., so i dunno.
