hey was up guys...i got a d16z6 and i'm planning on turboing it in may......but i dont wanna end it there... what are some other options to get this motor a bit faster....wat are all the options i have ...... thanx

 

Well if your gonna boost it, you gonna want a free flowing exhaust. You could do this one 2 ways. One way is to purchase or have made a 3in exhaust, Kteller makes one for the Del Sol and there stuff is top notch. The other option and its the one im going with, is im adding an exhaust cut out to my set up. This allows me to keep the exhaust i have now, which is a nice sounding albeit restrictive for a turbo exhaust, and when i really need the power IE track, dyno, spirited driving, all i have to do is press a switch and open the cut out and have an open downpipe setup. Your also gonna need a new clutch, i know this because my own Del Sol lasted maybe a 2 weeks on boost before the stocker took a crap on me. LSDMOTORSPORTS.com offer a GREAT alternative to the higher priced options like ACT and CLUTCHMASTERS. They have a great heavy duty clutch rated for 280whp for 275 shipped. Another good idea if you have the cash is a new intake manifold. A new intake manifold can really add ALOT of power and on a turbo set up that number is even greater. Also if your gonna go boost you should pick up some ARP head Studs and new OEM metal head gasket (unless yours has been replaced your factory head gasket is still flimsy fiber one). The only other thing is when you searching for a turbo be sure to keep your power goals in mind and try to find one that best matches your goals.
