It's not a 'direct' swap. You'd need a new ECU, mounts, and shift linkage whereas the D15B is essentially plug-and-play.

true but the price really isn't that far off these days.. u could do a B-swap for a couple hundred more

d15 = crap
y7 = crap
the only D motors you should be considering are the z6 and y8, maybe a b7

Just go to the junkyard and see what you can find. I went to the junkyard down here in florida and got a b7 needed in a rush for $200. Motor got 463k the a fulltank. Can't beat that on your budget.
