Default Hi Everybody !

Hello I am new to this forum and to the import scene. I just got a 97 honda civic lx and I have a few questions they may sound stupid but I am new to the whole car thing as well. The first question I was wondering was how much horsepower do I have on stock alone ? I have a SOHC 4 cylinder engine.

Welcome. First of all you should figure out exactly what engine you have. http://www.superhonda.com/tech/honda_engine_codes.html
I found this page with a quick google. It will give you an idea but you should try to find the code on your engine to make sure. The next thing you should consider is what the car needs. Does it need brakes, suspension, ect? Make sure it's safe before you make it faster. Now what is your budget? When you decide that you can start reseaching what you want to do. Look at the popular mods for your engine. You may want to go turbo or you may decide on a swap. Take it all one step at a time, research, and consider needs over wants. This board has alot of great DIYs to help you along. And remember the search button is your friend.
