Stay Street Legal

Is it illegal if I change my ecu from a p28 to a p30. I think i have a p28 for the honda del sol, but the place I am buying it is going to be p30. What should I do. I want my car to be street legal so I can get it ref. thats ahead

The P30 will look for a knock sensor and throw a CEL. The maps and ignition timing will be very different, so it wouldn't be a good idea.
