Default Vtec engagement + exhaust problem

I have a 00 civic Dx swapped b16 coupe. I recently ran over a hill that caused so much undercarriage grinding that it shoved my exhaust straight into the shifter. Which caused an exhaust leak at the cat. Im losing alot of back pressure due to that leak. Still have to get under there to look but.... prior to that vtec would engage normally and there would be a noticable change in sound from the motor. Now the changeover is barely noticable. Could the exhaust leak have something to do with it?

Your vtec is fine. I'm assuming now that there is a leak your exhaust is louder? The only thing that changed I'm sure is the exhaust and VTEC engagment sounds. Performance-wise you're all good.

Im losing alot of back pressure
What? Then thats a good thing. Backpressure is what your trying to eliminate by purchasing a larger exhaust, test pipe, header, or pretty much any exhaust epgrade out there.
