Disagree. Sound is an opinion question, but I've got a test pipe and have no problem with smell. I'm pretty sure if smell were going to be an issue, the smell would be worse with a cat, than without.

You are entitled to your opinions, but I have driven behind a teg that had no cat and it sounded so awful and definitely had a smell to it.

My point is that it is really fucking selfish to pollute even more just for the pursuit of 2-3 hp on a street driven car. If it were a track only trailer queen, I would be fine with it.

i have a hollowed cat with the twin loop and my car is silent like that of stock until WOP. When you look and huge 18 wheelers, SUV's, Trucks, Buses, etc, they are putting out sooooo much more polution then a little 4 banger. How is this selfish if we are trying to get a little better performance out of it ? I think, as long as it isn't shooting out shit out of the exhaust, and doesn't smell horrible, i find no problem. It's funny, that California has some of the most strict polution laws, etc, yet we have the worst pollution. Look at the pollution here compared to other major cities such as NYC, Chicago, Miami, etc. The laws in those states (besides NYC) are extremely lax compared to CA.

I say go for as long as it is indeed easily fixable incase you get reffed.

Just imagine if everyone was as ignorant and selfish as you are...

And just because pollution is bad in California doesn't give you the right to make it worse.

So are you saying 18 Wheelers, Buses, Diesel Trucks, SUV's, leaf blowers, lawn mowers, etc.... are all ignorant ???

As much pollution as an Turbo Diesel Truck puts out on a track in the 1/4 mile I put out in 2 months.

I think of it like voting. Will my vote really count anyways ? Will my little 4 banger with a hollowed cat really make a difference ??? Absolutely not !!!

How can you tell me I'm ignorant when half the stuff under your hood is illegal ? Don't sit here and say these things when you are doing the complete opposite.

Well, it has been proven that a turbocharged GSR will make less pollution than a brand new turbocharger. I don't have the link right now, but if you need some enlightenment, I'll gladly find it.

Also, I still have the stock catalytic converter in place and can pass smog, so your arguement holds no water.

If you seriously think that if your lack of catalytic converter is really not causing any damage, I really suggest you look into an environmental studies class to rid yourself of the ignorance that a huge majority of Californians have.

Comparing your car to semi-trailers and lawnmowers is like comparing apples and oranges. Try again without justification.
