Default Question About Cold Air Intake

Hi,
I have a 2002 4 dr Civic sedan, and I was thinking about putting a cold air intake in. Are there any differences between the 2dr or Manual Transmission intakes? I've been looking around and I seem to find only M/T intakes or intakes for the coupe. Thanks!

An intake is an intake. I would suggest an ebay pipe with a K&N filter assuming you don't have to deal with the California smog laws.

I don't have to worry about California Laws, so how hard is it to install this pipe and K&N Filter? Is it a DIY job? Also, if I decide on a intake, should i go with short ram intakes or the regular pipe intake?

It is an easy DIY job.

I went with short ram to help avoid hydrolocking my engine. Either way (short ram or c.a.i.) you're not going to see much improvement in power. You will be louder though.

Sorry for bumping the topic again, does anyone have a website or post that shows and tells you how to install the c.a.i. or short ram yourself? I know I have to take out the air filter box but I'm not sure exactly what to do. Any info would be much appreciated, thanks!

disconnect the existing air intake from the intake manifold. then take the air filter box and you connect the cold air intake to the place where the stock one was connected to

I had an 04 but wrecked it, a manual and auto cai on a 01-05 are different only with the mounts... if you have a manual, you'll have to cut a mount off, cause it won't mount up if you use a auto intake. But manual intakes will be one mount short. No big deal.
