Check the oil and o2 censor ... both of those will affect your mpg... just an idea... good luck with fixing it... Oh ya and the air in your tires...lol just stupid little things could add up...

I change my oil every 3000 miles, and I am currently at 255 miles on a full tank and prolly got another gallon to go. I have a heavy foot kind of. So you should be getting around there. Also mine is an automatic. I heard 5spd's are SUPPOSE to get better gas mileage, dont quote me on that.

Also realize that around this time of year when the weather gets colder the air is more dense with oxygen so more O2 you have to add more fuel. Things should balance out within a week or so.

Also check air pressures in your tires, dump some fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank.

All depends how you drive. If you drive like a granny, don't use A/C, and only drive on the freeway, you should be getting 40+ MPG. On a cross country trip following a trailor doing about 60mph and not using A/C, I got 52 MPG on a D16Z6. It was rare. I averaged 40-44 MPG for the trip. I was getting approx 415 miles per tank (pushing it).

IF you are using A/C, doing all in town and flooring it all the time you will get much worse MPG. I have gotten around 200 miles to the tank before from driving like this.

Do you have a Check engine light ever? Maybe your O2 sensor is out? Tires not full? MSN Autos says that you should get 26-29 city and 34-35 hwy. Here's the link I used...Good luck.

you could just be going too fast on the freeway. if you go 80 on the freeway you might see you're MPG drop to as low as 20-25 at about 85 you'll probably see 20 mpg no problem

if you arent burning oil or losing some fluid i'd have to say that you are just driving it wrong.

civicSI is right about the air being denser, but the difference with that is that if you wanted to go the same speed as you always do it just requires less throttle to gain the same effect.

also, have you seen how far you can go after 1/4 tank? sometimes sensors are just screwed up, thats why i say tell us the average MPG by placing miles drivin over gallons added. in my accord i could stay above 1/2 forever, but as son as i hit 1/2 it'd take a nose dive. maybe yours is a reverse of that :dunno:

Is it in-town driving? That's about what I get from all in-town. (same engine as you.)
