Low idle after exhaust install
#16
I have a 99 Civic EX and have the same exact problem after I installed my WS exhaust. Even after a 30,000 mile tune up I switched to the WS exhaust and the car started to run really rough, almost stalling. I adjusted the TB but this didn't solve the problem. Also I noticed that the car now "searches" for a idle speed, sometimes it will stay at 600RPM, then other times will go from 300 to 600.

Weird! I tried to adjust my idle once. I worked until I turned the car off, and back on. I think the ECU compensates for any changes. I tried it 3-4 times, and same results after turning the car off. Finally I gave up. Turned out to be a spark plug. The plugs all looked fine, after looking closer I noticed the peice of ceramic surrounding the electrode was cracked on one. I touched it, and it fell out. Good thing I found it before it made its way into the combustion chamber.

theyre right, could be indicative of other electrical problems
however, i adjusted my throttle tension and it keeps the same idle speed all the time.
the "searching" you described is actually an electronic choke, thats normal too. cold engines should boot at 1k and warm engines should knock down to between 300-600, mine runs at about 400
