Default !!! is this true !!!

this is my first post as a new member i love the site i have learned alot and some i didn't wanna learn so to the title " !!! is this true !!! " i have seen on multable accounts across the web statments regarding gas milage increase if you add acitone to your fuel.

now i have seen some pretty dumb stuff before butt one of my buddy's at work is convinced it works and says that his dad uses it and gets a significant increase in gas milage and swears up and down by it so before i go out and get a bottle of fingernail pollish remover and dump it in my 93 honda civic h/b (my baby ) i was wondering if anyone had tryed it yet and what kinda results they might have had.

acitone - pure fingernail polish remover not the perfumey kind
he say's he mixes it 3oz of acitone for 15 gal. of gas

Um, I wouldn't do that. I'm sure it'll clean your injectors and any gum buildup, but who knows the longterm affects.

If you want to clean the injectors out and gain some fuel economy, go buy a bottle of Lucas Fuel Injector Cleaner at Autozone for $5.

and how much is a bottle of fingernail polish remover? if you compare the prices for both per volume I bt youre paying more for a bottle of nail polish remover than for an equal ammount of gasoline. checking online 6 oz of nail polish remover is usually about 1.50-2.00 (fluid ounces). now consider that theres 128 fluid ounces in a gallon. hrmmmm..... you do the math.

Never heard of it. I won't be putting any nail polish remover in my tank.
