!!! is this true !!!

Haven't actually tried it yet, and I'm sure as hell not going to in my car!
BUT, this is a really interesting concept, and the best way to check it out is through a test... I'm thinking once the weather gets warmer again, I'm going to find a cheap (free is good) lawnmower engine and do a series of tests. First up, which can be done any time and is a really good call, is to soak some tubing and o-rings in 100% acetone for a couple days (weeks?) and see what happens. This is awfully conservative, but obviously if everything holds up, then obviously diluted quantities won't hurt fuel lines. Then I'll have to figure out how to quantify the results of straight gas versus gas with acetone in the engine runs.
I'm an engineer (not mechanical or chemical), so this is really interesting to me!

I bought some acetone the other day but I need to find some gas that has no ethanol in it. I also need to use up my gas with the injector cleaner in it. I need a beaker or graduated cylinder too.
Google "acetone in gas" for more info also....

I've been adding acetone to my fuel(2 oz. per 10 gallons) for the past month or so. I'm fixing to quit doing it. I'm seeing no noticable fuel mileage improvement. I knew it was a crock of shit. I guess i'm gullible enough to try anything. It does seem to give your car more pep, but who knows. Anyway, it's not worth the trouble, in my opinion.

Yea the mythbusters idea is a good one but i cant seem to find their emails. CONSPIRACY!!! hahaha
This acetone idea seems like a good idea but for the fact that it doesnt seem like a signficant amount like kestrel said 1 part acetone to 1000 parts gas. I dunno next time i fill up my truck i might just throw some in just to see.:nervous:

no no..... thats sand people.. .from star wars. they aparantly have a high alchohol diet which allows their flashpoints in liquid form to produce a 30% hotter spark. why do you think the death star blew up like it did? there was a sand people convention on the 4th floor.
