As far as i know, no its not. Then again, i only know the civics from 92-00. I dont know if they changed it after that. Ask Schmoo, he will probably know.

I know enough to get by. If you don't have anything usefull to say... FUCK YOU nice day guy. What I wrote was my real world experience. I'm not a profesional mechanic (most of us on here are not) and I don't claim to have the answers . Read what I wrote, I offered suggestions and wrote about what worked for me. Same as everyone else. This is a forum where we are all invited to talk openly about what we know and learn from it. I suppose you know it all and don't really need this forum. Go buy yourself a rusty '77 Montecarlo or something and leave the rest of us alone. Beter yet, go hit a tree. Have a shity day asshole. I bet you're a dick to your friends too. Is that you in the middle of your little picture there?

Actually, I dont claim to know it all, and nowhere do I act like I do. Leave the "rest of us" alone? I dont bother anyone on here except when they give horrible advice. Not changing your fuel filter ever 40k miles or so is just stupid sorry. I really dont know where the monte carlo comes into play, but ok.

BTW, i happen to like most of the regulars on here that I know, and we all get along fine. From looking at your profile and seeing that you're 32 yrs old, that is such an immature comment about my picture. Get real dude, and stop playing little kiddy games.

The man asked if a fuel filter was a lifetime thing and I answered with evidence to support that maybe you don't need to change it so often.. Yeah, Maybe I should change it more often and I fully understand the reasons for that. I'm was simply adding my "$.02" because it's real world experience that YOU can ALL use. Obviously, preventitive maintenence is a great idea. Over all those miles, I've been pulled home only twice.

There are new regulars on this site so get used to it. You don't need to go around calling people you don't know "stupid". Maybe you were having a bad day or whatever. Hey no problem.

My 93 factory repair manual has all the intervals for the filters, belts etc. I haven't seen it in the owners manual.

I replace the ff about every 2 or 3 years as a pm procedure. It usally has some dirt in it if you empty all the gas out of it.

Yeah, my Haynes manuel for the 1998 civic CLEARLY states to change your filter periodicaly. I have done mine ever 25k miles or so. regular maintinance is the key to a healthy vehicle. Why the hell would you only change a FILTER once in 400,000+ miles. Im sorry,l but I consider that to be stupidity too. Like not changing your oil for 20k miles or something. Just do it.

What's oil?

In the old days, back when fuel was not as high a quality as it is today, Fuel filters were about 1" x 1.2" (very small). These days the quality of fuel is very high AND the fuel filters are much larger. PLUS there is a screen in the gas tank that didn't used to be there.

You guys are automotive GODS.
