Default flywheel side oil seal removall help

i tried lookin in the helms manual but it doesnt really have instructions on taking the actual seal out.

do i have to take the cover off and then pop the seal out? or can i just yank it out without removal of the cover. this is for the big oil seal for the crank that is behind the flywheel.

any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

take the plate off... to remove/replace the seal. make sure you use hondabond to seal the plate back up.

i believe it is called the rear main seal. its the one that is behind the flywheel..

so i do have to take the cover off to get the seal out.. is there anything i should watch out for. what are the torque specs when i reassemble?

if its a bseries, i know for a fact u have to drop the oil pan to access two of the 10mm bolts in order to take the cover off. no u dont yank out the seal. it goes back on the cover, put a bit of hondabond and ur good to go. tq specs, i may be wrong, but i believe its 25lbs.

its for a D16. I guess i need to drain the engine oil as well. So as for the install, i pull the cover off then remove the seal. replace the seal then put hondabond on the cover and put the assembly back on the engine block.

anything else guys.

thanks for the responses.
