Default Jackson Supercharger ? what type of boost ....

Hey,

I have a d16z6 in a del sol. I am thinking about a jackson supercharger. the d16z6 has 125 hp. what type of horsepower will I be looking at after:

Jackson Racing Supercharger
Header
Mendrel Bent Catback
High Flow Fuel rail with Fuel Regulator
550CC RC Injectors
M.A.P Controller
Intake
Boost Controller

How much horsepower am i looking at? Give me an estimate. Remember, car stock is at 125 horses....

Thanks

You are going to need some better engine management than a "MAP Controller" to control those 550cc injectors. Boost on a supercharger isn't controlled with a boost controller, but a different sized pulley.

Are supers the same as a turbo where you should do 6-8 on a stock z6?

yea dude, you need to have some kind of engine management. Something like the AEM EMS, E-Manage, or even a chipped ECU. Your boost will stay the same as long as you keep the stock pulley on there. The only way you can go up is by changing out the pulley for a larger one.

Also you're peak gains won't be as high as a turbocharged z6, but you will have that automatic power throught your whole rpm band.

Probably. I wouldn't run much more on the piece of shit JRSC anyway. The supercharger will probably break before the engine does with higher boost.

That is what i am looking for. I don't want to turbo-charge it just because of the wear and tear on the car. i live in los angeles with the worst traffic in the world so i need some as dependable as a supercharger. Instead of 550cc injectors, should i just get 310 or 410 ????

How is turbo charging any more wear and tear than a supercharger? They both shove compressed air into the cylinders.

I would stick with 310cc injectors if you don't plan on turning the boost up.

Yea, a SC is a little more reliable than a turbo, but none-the-less, a SC is a major mod and can easily make your car unreliable. Its all in the way you do things to make it reliable. Dont start this stuff, saying turbos are unreliable and cause so much wear and tear blahblahblah.

turbos, it takes a lot more money to start and to keep up with a turbo then a supercharger. i am only gonna be running 6-8 psi. never above that. turbo = full piping, intercooler, all types of valves and what not, a supercharger requires just that, a supercharger, thats it.

Price of s JRSC =$1,900 w/ 100K mile warranty
Greddy t03/04 = $3-4K and the end of everything and if you try and boost too much, there go your internals.

for a stock engine, a jrsc is definately the way to go.
