Default major brake problems

on my way to a dr. appointment thursday morning my brakes suddently locked up on the intersate. i drove the car about 2 miles to the next exit maxing out at 45mph. i pulled into a parking lot and the front brake are the only ones locked up. i got a ride to the dr office and came back to my car 2 hours later. by now the brakes are loose and i can drive the car again. so i followed it and had my dad drive it back. he had no problems. i have no idea what's wrong so i go ahead and bleed the brakes again. the driver side get a little grungy fluid coming out and i move to the passengers side where i get almost no fluid at all. so i disconected the line from the prop valve and bleed it backward. i get a good bit of nice clean fluid out of it. so i hook the pump up to the port in the prop valve and i can get pleny of nice clean fluid out of it. i reconnected the lines and bleed it from the caliper again. [btw this is a rebuild caliper from autozone] i have no problems this time. i did the rear as well and had no problem there. now the wierd thing, when i brake the pedal feels like i have been pumping on it all day. it's super firm and barely depresses. i have no idea why. i'm still not sure why the front brakes are the only ones that locked up. i am afraid to take the car out of town for fear of this happening again. does anyone have an sugestions as to what happened or to why my pedal feels rock hard?

did you try turning the car on? when its off and you pump the brake pedeal it will be firm, once you turn on the car, it will loosen up.

this isn' t though:

Mirack: the one thing that really bothers me is the fact that the car pulls to the left
ABRN s k i e s: have the alignment checked
ABRN s k i e s: actually
ABRN s k i e s: take a piece of string
ABRN s k i e s: and wrap it around the car
ABRN s k i e s: and check it yourself
Mirack: yea i had it done wednesday
Mirack: on thursday night i noticed it pulled left so i went to a perfectly leval parking lot to make sure i wasn't trippin
Mirack: still pulls left. and if i let go at anything more than 40mph it wants to snap left
ABRN s k i e s: that is weird

i got out the pyrometer today and drove around doing lots of hard braking. then i took the pyrometer and chekcing hte temp of my front rotors. the Front left is ~35 deg. F hotter than the Right front. i retested this after more braking and got the same result. the spokes on my wheel on that side were also hotter than the passenger side. i noticed some more brake dust on the driver side too so i went ahead and ordered a new caliper. we will see come tomorow night when i pick it up and put it on
