Default Some how this story leads to me going all motor...just read. I need advice.

Ok, well. I had a lot to think about today. I just quit my job because the way it was making me run my life, If I kept living that way I would probably die, litteraly. Since I started that job it was 6 days a week 60+ hours. I lost 27 pounds, my ulcer came back, my back is damaged, and my white blood cell count is ultra high from all the stress and confusion my body is going through with the way I was living. Some ow this led to me ditching the turbo and going all motor. This is a car forum so you guys probably don't want to hear about my life, but my car. So anyway fuck the turbo I'm going all motor.

I want to know what the best shit I can buy is. I'm going to aim for a 12'er.

Here's the list of shit I need to know.

Can I hit 12's with CTR cams? I dished out 400$ for them already so I'm stuck with them.

I found a bangin' deal on skunk2 springs and retainers for 212$ so I got those. Jus thought I'd mention.

What's the best header I can get?

What's the best exhaust?

Can I put my head together with the springs, retainers, cams, and cam gears, just so I can drive my car, then at a later date get head work done? Or does it need to be done before I put all that in?

The b16 already has 10.4 comp in it so should I keep it at that ratio and just beef it up with eagle and JE? Or go for like 11.5 comp.

I spent all this time on the turbo just to drop it. I don't know a whole hell of a lot about all motor. I just was thinking hmm with turbo you got this raw power source, with all motor you gotta get the power collectively it's more of a challenge ya know?

B16 + 12 sec E.T. = $$$$ not impossible but be prepared to spend some dough.

some dough is an understatement, and I dont think there is a chance in hell you will hit 12s with CTR cams, no offense.....you are lookin at building the block, huge cams, ITB, hondata or other EMS, slicks, built axles, prob. do an ITR tranny with a different final drive. tuning, tuning, tuning, tuning.

I dont want a 12 flat. 12.6x+ would be nice. I rarely go to the track anyway. I just want something enjoyable. I don't crave a huge beast anymore. I think. I don't know, right now I'm not in a very positive time of my life. I was planning on spending like 6 grand. I'm probably going to end up getting the toda stroker kit. Doesn't it bump the shit up to like 1.79 litres or something? I know for a fact I saw somewhere that it has 11 flat compression with a regular metal headgasket.

Shit, it'd be cheaper to just go B20/VTEC instead of the Toda kit.

It would be cheaper just to turbo it.

the toda stroker kit is not worth it for the price. it would be cheaper for you to sleeve and bore it out to 84-85mm if you want more displacement. which is what you want if you want to hit 12's with a b16. it's gonna take a little more than 6 grand.

but to answer your first question....the best header you can buy would be from rmf, smsp, or hytech. they all make headers in the $600-800 range that make great power. match it up with any 2.5" exhaust.

Put it this way.... my work has a 12 sec. all motor hatch. The engine is a B18C5 (ITR) 2.0L (stroked) motor. The head has a Toda valvetrain with Toda springs and Toda Spec B cams. ITR transmission. Tuned with Hondata. It ran 12.8 on slicks.

With a B16, I'd figure you'd need to do more. You would probably want to look into bigger displacement.
