2004 Civic white film left on window problem
Hi all, question regardng my GF's civic. Her windows get this cloudy white film on them after about 4-5 days since last cleaning. I'll use Windex to clean them or some other window cleaners and again after 4-5 days her window are hazy. It comes off if you streak your fingers through it. Someone said its from her A/C. If it is what could be done to avoid this? It's summer and temps are hot so no A/C is out of the question.

maybe try rubbing alcohol? I used to have trouble at work with my safety glasses fogging up after I cleaned them with windex. I found out that the windex was giving my glasses a static charge and attracting oil droplets to the lenses. A little rubbing alchol solved the problem. So I'm wondering if the glass cleaners are reacting with something else in the car, like an air freshener? That's what I would try anyway.

Invisible glass...spray can...at Autozone / Napa...spray it on, give it a few seconds to work; then, with wadded up black and white print news paper, wipe it off...glass will look new.
In case you're wondering, these instructions come right off of the product itself.
Dealerships use the same stuff to prep new and used cars for delivery.
Fog X leaves a film on th window that you don't notice untill you touch it...then it smears...at least it did for me.

Does the inside of her car smell like waffles? Sort of a sweet smell? If so, it's possible that her heater core has a leak. That would leave a residue on the inside of the glass, and since it's summer time, you won't see any steam.
If you want to check to see if that's the problem for sure, check your coolant level and the overflow bottle levels. Make sure they're both topped off and staying that way. If either of them are low, have your radiator pressure tested. Since the heater core is connected to your coolant system, if it doesn't hold 16 PSI, there's a coolant leak somewhere. Try to find it. If it's the heater core, it's inside the car. If it doesn't hold pressure, you really need to fix whatever's leaking or you could end up replacing head gaskets or engines or the like.
It's possible that it's just from condensation, but what I'm imagining from your description, the white film is unusual.
