what's wrong w/ coasting in neutral and braking? wouldn't it save gas?
If coastin then there is more wear on the brakes and you don't save gas because the throttle isn't open when coasting even at higher RPMs.

double clutching is real cool- if you are going, say 40 mph, in forth gear at 3,000 rpm's, just push in the clutch and rev the car to where your rpm's would be if you were driving in 2nd gear at 40 mph, then shift to seccond and floor it.

I couldn't agree anymore....my tranny didn't like the 7200 rpm abuse...actually neither of my first 2 did. Hopefully the 3rd one i put in at 40K miles will last a bit longer In any case...downshifting and revving up to make the car not jerk is called rev matching not double clutching. And i'd rather put it in neutral and brake....the brakes are designed to wear down, the engine isn't. And would you rather pay 100 for some new rotors/pads of 1000 for a motor/tranny?

i totaly agree, its a good thing the d's trainies are relatively cheap, cause they are almost disposable if you race with them. does anyone know if the zc tranie is any stronger, or doesnt grind?

yeah i have a busted boot and axel seal(from the tranny) leak. sucksass i get grease everywhere, its probably to late anyhow to fix it so im gonna fix it when i get new axles, but my tranny is still good, well i think it ish: i also got a leak from the rear main seal, which throws oil everywhere on the block. no need to double clutch is a civic.

I asked a friend of mine how to double clutch a bit ago and he couldnt explain it very well, but what i got from it is when you change gears (say 1st to 2nd) you do something like tap the clutch in 2 times or something, it didnt make sense to me, but it had to do with taping the clutch twice.
