Default 93 del sol engine options

I just picked up a 93 non vtec del sol with a d15b7 that has a one inch hole in the side of it! I figured stock engines are lame, so I was looking for advice on what would be worth swapping to. Basicly i want a daily driver that will still show up rice boys and decal jockeys! I guess i'd go with a dohc vtec, but which one? Id plan on just some bolt ons (cam pulleys, underdrive pulleys, intake, header, quiet performance exhaust, possibly turbo in near future) Im just not sure of what engine out of what car would serve be best and be reasonable to install. Thanks guys...

A dime-a-dozen JDM D15B will run you around $400 and it will bolt right up to your existing mounts and current B7 transmission. Home-brewed T25 turbo kit w/intercooler will tack on another $900. It will put you around 170 whp, which is more than a "feasible" B-series swap any day. Whereas if you wanted a good, reliable, complete swap, it can be had on ebay for a whopping $2600 (not counting mounts and shift linkages by the way) http://cgi.ebay.com/JDM-B16A-3rd-Gen...QQcmdZViewItem

you gonna get better numbers by swaping in a SOHC vtec and boosting that bad boy. You could easily see almost 200whp on stock guts and thats WAY more then youll get just swapping in a gsr motor and throwing on an exhaust and intake. BUT if you must have a DOHC and you want to turbo, then you should swap in a b18b, as it will give you better numbers when you boost. If you plan on boosting with whatever motor you get, save your self some money and DONT buy the header and intake because both will be nixed when you do the turbo install.
