Default What do you think happened? (water puddle)

So it was raining real hard last night, I was about 2 blocks from my house and I hit a HUGE water puddle. The car died immediately and it wouldn't even turn over. I pushed the car home and kept trying to start it.

After a couple hours I came back out and tried to start it some more. It sounded like it was trying to crank a tiny bit, so I kept trying and trying and finally it turned over and started up. But now it is knocking pretty loudly. The knocking sounds like it is comin from in head somewhere and it speeds up with RPM's.

The car is running ok now, just constantly knocking.

What do you think it is? Bent valve?

Thanks.

Hydrolocked. Been there, done that. It's not a pretty thing. Prepare for a new motor.

Yeah I kinda figured. Didn't think it would restart if it did though.

Only had a short ram on there. I can't believe that much water got in.

Happened to me and I fried my pistons, I just got a new motor. I also got the bypass valve after I blew my old motor and it does help some, just try to avoid deep puddles

damn must have been a HUUUUGE puddle if you just had a short ram on there. i guess look for a new motor or if you can just pull that one out and get your hands dirty with a rebuild.

you can always give it an italian tune up just for shits and giggles
