f/r lower tie bars on 99 civic
just some questions about lower tie bars
i drive a 99 civic ex coupe (ej8 chassis) and I was planning on buying f/r lower tie bars off eBay. hopefully they won't snap/bend on my from taking corners like an idiot constantly
anyways, i was mainly concerned about the install. whats the best way to install them? I read the bolts need to be torqued to a certain amount on rear and front. 40 on rear 72 on front I believe? somewhere around there. but would it be okay to just hand tighten them with a socket wrench as hard as I can? and about jacking them...can I just jack 1 side up on the factory jack points and install them? or do both sides have to be evenly jacked with both wheels off the ground evenly? or can i back up onto ramps.
any info is greatly appreciated

its always best to torque to spec. im sure you could get away with wrenching them on. but its important to torque to spec on many other things. you can get a torque wrench for under 20 bucks. you should have one in the garage.
im pretty sure its best to jack up both sides of the car and install and then lower it back down.

ideally, you would want to jack up the entire rear or the entire front for installation. once you have it installed and the bolt tightened, lower the vehicle and drive it on a ramp.. go back underneath, loosen the bolt and retighten to torque spec. It should be tightened with the suspension loaded.
40 lbs. is quite a bit. you might be able to get away with tightening it as tight as you can with a regular ratchet, but if the front is 72 ft. lbs., there's no way you'll reach it without an extended handle.
