meh, its not a bolt on kit, problems are to be expected. Ive been working my way through them and will ultimatly be better off then buying a bolt on kit. Its obvius that your opinion is against home made turbo kits and its obvius im all for them. SO any further discussion along those lines would be pointless. Now back on topic

LOL! I know of PLENTY of factory-turbo cars that are high-maintenance. Either way it doesn't really make a difference, just takes more skill and engineering... turbo cars are always moody and starved for attention. You know that.

It's all engineering. A well engineered kit or a factory blown car is going to be way better than a hodge podge kit anyday. I don't think his junkyard kit will every boost reliably. Just my opinion.

I think it will. There's no engineering problem that time and money can't fix.

See the only "junkyard" parts on my car is the manifold, turbo and bov. Everything else is the same, if not better then you would get in your preassembled kit. Just because pre assmebled kits are brand new and have a bunch of shiny parts doesnt mean that a used turbo cant work just as effectivly. There are plenty of people on Home Made turbo who "junkyard" kits and are making amazing numbers and lasting with little to no problems over many years. Your statements may be based on opinions but there is enough refuting evidence to make your opinion come off only as ignorance

Those are the most important parts of any turbo kit.

See you are getting home made, junkyard, and assembled kits confused. If you buy a Turbonetics T3, a revhard manifold, AEM EMS, greddy BOV, Tial wastegate, spearco intercooler and piping all new it's not home made. Junkyard is junkyard, self explanitory. Buying hard parts from vendors is not "preassembled" either. I have raced most of my life and I have had a boosted car longer than 99% of the people on this board and I have yet to see a fast junkyard turbo car (meaning non turbo car from factory made to be turbocharged with junkyard parts). And by fast I mean mid 13's or lower.

your right they are the most importent parts of the turbo set up but they are also the easiest to inspect. A manifold is easily replaced, a turbo easily rebuilt, and another 1g bov is only 30 bucks away. I believe it is you who is confusing things with this matter. The idea of a homemade or "junkyard" turbo kit to get the best bang for the buck. Your sole aim isnt to get "13.5 or faster 1/4" its to get faster for less. I may not be able to run mid 13s or lower, but i WILL be considerbly faster then a stock Del Sol Si, and i didnt spend anywhere near as much as a nice peak boost kit would have set me back, Im boosted, ive made no claim to being the fastest car in the world, but I will say that if your looking to get boosted for less money, building your own kit will ALWAYS be the best way
