Default rsuted up screw

about 2 weeks ago .. a taxi hit my mirror :madfawk:

and my friend just gave me a spare mirror on his civic

but now BOTH of the screws on the mirrors are rusted shut ... i sprayed that liquid wrench or whatever on it .. still didnt budge

anyone got any suggestions ??

For some strange reason, I was thinking your inside rear view mirror. :doh: Are you replacing the actual mirror or the entire housing? The three bolts that hold the entire side mirror to the car should come off easily.

sometimes we soak bolts in coke and that seems to help, but a chemist friend hydrogen peroxide should theoretically work REALLY well.

One reason why Im glad Im on the west coast. The weather takes a beating on your guy's cars.

california cars around here are about the best you can hope for when buying used. the only problem is the salt air digging into the paint.

if you finally get to it, just get a SMALL drill bit and use easy outs...

i got that little damn screw to come off ... and i was jus replacing the mirror .... why does honda got to make intalling and uninstalling mirrors so daym hard ???
