Someone shoved a few batteries in my tank so my niece was told. If this does cause damage, how soon and how bad?

 

What the fuck? Hold old were they/your niece? I'd go and kick some 15 year old ass if I were you. What kind of batteries? Also it's pretty easy to get into the tank if you can get like one of those long poles with the clamp at the end that you can squeeze the handle of and grab stuff.

 

Man the guy is like 18. He keeps doing shit. I have 2 deep scratches on my fender and my quarter panel and 2 holes in my trunk thanks to him. Im not scared to beat the shit out of him... to some point. Not cause of him, but the cops had enough of me when I was 16. I am 21 and they hold crap against me still so I dont want to get into trouble by doing anything. Plus, paying myself out of jail costs alot.

So I assumer they were the usual AA's. And it sounds maybe like from 5 - 10 by how my niece said. Shit I dunno. Some shop wants to charge me $90 to empty the tank. I have to deliver with my car so I HAVE to do something about it NOW before it fucks something up. I'm worried the battery acid will come out and eat or tear the engine up. This sucks.

Well. Im bringing (not to sound racist) one of my older black friends with me when I do it. Because he does like to bring alot of people with him everywhere and he is dirty. Such as one time he planned on jumping me he had pepper spray. So. I dunno. My parents want me to beat the fuck out of him so I assume they will bail me. It's crap though. I didn't ever do shit to the bastard and it's really fucked up to mess with someones car, especially when they spend majorities of their paycheck on it. Well let's just say thanks to assholes, my cars value is $3000, but should be $7000.

well if they somehow break or something or cause a spark it may cause a gasoline fire in the tank, though a few more conditions would have to be satisfied for that to happen (i believe that the gas cap would need to be open aswell...

 

There is little to no oxygen in the gas tank. If you tried to light a fire in a gas tank nothing would happen. The vapors burn but only with oxygen. You can actually weld on a gas tank that has gas in it, believe it or not. I'm not sure what effect gasoline has on batteries, though. If you have a whitness who can say they saw him put the batteries in the gas tank you can have a judge force him to pay for the removal of the batteries and the repair of any damage to your car. But, only if you have a whitness.
