Default Kicking muffler tip

muffler rattles like a B*TCH !!!
At 1000 RPM sounds like a piece of S**T
rattles when i kick the tip as well
ready to put my foot through it !!!
ripped off the heatshields on exhaust pipe A

HELP!!!!

go under the car and just wiggle the exhaust around so you can look and feel where the exhaust is hitting and just bend the hangers accordingly.

I would say it's the resonator or the cat or maybe someone threw a rock in your muffler?

I had this problem too few years back. See where it's banging and fold up some cardboard. Wedge the cardboard in the area where it's rattling in between the metal contact surfaces. Don't worry it won't burn. If your muffler is degrading from within, you may not fix it unless you replace it. Is it a one piece muffler?

it's the OEM muffler.
i've been up and down the length of the exhaust
and i know for a fact its the muffler
gonna take it down when i get home

anyways first day on the board and everyone is very helpful

hey dpkelly,

wedged some cardborad betwwen the muffler and body. stopped the rattle but i don't feel really safe with it there.

any other suggestions

just try bending some hangers around and see where the sweet spot is. that little piece of cardboard or leather would just pop out when you go over a bump or something.

thanks guys

leather sounds like a better idea
muffler is gone from the inside bending the hooks, i don't think would do anything
give it a try though
hope this helps someone with the same problem
its been driving me nuts

ps dpkelly Newmarket eh !! i've been to the tannery one too many times!!
