There is no reason to change the ignition timing on a STOCK car, it could really fuck up you car. And yes, that's what's causing the backfiring.

does it smoke when it backfires, or right after you step on the gas after a back fire?

nope, no back firing up the rpm range only if i let go gas and use engine as a brake it will back fire... occasionally it will back fire if i press clutch in and let the rpm go down... its only little bit then..

its normal . you got a modded exhaust system. you will hear it. its notin to worry about. as long as you are sure of your timing, a mark could be a few degrees off, verify with VA disabled and timing at the suggested area with a timing light, if it still does it then put a stock muffler on if its that annoying.

thanks for the replies, its not annoying to hear it backfire, cause i sometimes like to hear it, specially on my friends v8 lol.. i was just worried if it should be doing that allot... btw, whats is VA? the only one thing thats annoying me is the sound is resonating alot on the inside... its enough to hurt my ears and i think its not supposed to be that loud inside? so what it is is a stock tubing from the cat to the end which is at the rear wheels. i then welded a 2 inch pipe to the muffler and put a coupler from 2 to 1-3/4 inch and just clamped it down...

thanks

you are hearing exhaust leaking at your clampingor in another place, mabye take it to a muffler shop and tell them to 'patch' it. . always go inside the next piece. VA is vaccuum advance.
