Are you constantly at the drag stip from the time you go to work/school till you get home? i dont think so. 300whp can propell a stipped and pure drag civic down the 1/4 in less then 9.9 secs, you dont need that for everyday, so now, if you feel like knocking on my ideas, think about what you are trying to do or what everyone else is trying to do.

300 wheel out of a b18c and boost = 9 seconds? The only reason people put in b's and boost is because it will give a lot more power for half the cost of a "fast" n/a d. Just because you may have "300whp" doesn't mean you have to use it every day. But it's there when you do need it.

way to take what you said completely out of context.
I was going to take a non vtec 8 valve honda engine and built it for boost, but then it hit me. I would make 10 times more if I swapped, but that I might be following the crowd. what a dilemma. I also think that those 9 sec civic's are running a 100 or 2 more hp that 300.

Well, I dont think anyone did answer his question.... If I were you I would do a search, and see what you come up with.

Anything over NA 150whp in a D16 will be crap for daily driver, it will be crap on gas mileage.

Honestly, if I were you I would do some more research on B series motors. There is a reason alot of people swap them into hondas, it is more common because it is cheaper, more relyable (stock motor), and it is cheaper in the long run.

If you want to keep your D as a daily driver with around 180whp, and relyability, supercharge it.

Personally, i just don't want to boost, period. Don't get me wrong, boosting is an easy and relatively cheap way to get massive amounts of power. But im just looking to be decently quick, not 10,11,12 sec 1/4. I might would consider supercharging, but i would be limited to psi unless i wanted to get a custom pulley made.

Don't knock...just a question...Is 200whp n/a hard for a b16a or b18c1?(All ive ever owned is sohc, so not to sure about power output on a tuned b16 or b18)

id say with a b18c 200whp is easily acheivable, intake, header, exhaust, maybe some nice agressive cams, pistons, and im sure you looking atleast 200 whp

is there any design that is silly? all of them are, but it is whatever you like to do. the independant 4 throttle plate design was always a good one and the pro stock air ram was another, it comes to being silly. none of us would try to make a handicapp faster if we weren't silly in our own ways.
