$800 for those that might inquire.
Even for $800, that is insane. It takes no skill to resurface anything. It's not like they have to do precise measurements and get everything within 'specs'. I would drop that deal, they probably profit off of people who don't know much about cars.

Edit: Maybe they think you want a port and polish?

No, P&P is $1100, I did some mild research on the company and they came pretty highly qualified but on the pricey side.

Your getting raped.. i'd say fuck any of those prices.. if u can't find someone to do it for under 75 bucks.. then get some 1000 grit sand paper & a block & go at it for about 5minutes!

Well now I've got an offer for a pre-prepped head from DH-Racing This includes worked over milled valve jobbed swirl polished valve and assembled with springs.

He's also got a custom cam that he would sell to me. So with this stuff, what kind of tuning do I need if any? Do I need a cam gear? I'm still waiting for him to reply to me about these questions so we'll see how it goes. So as of right now, if I get this head then I won't have to get the current one machined which should bring down the cost significantly no?

What kind of gains can my friend expect with this along her Fake J's intake, DC 2pc header, RT high flow cat and 2.25 piping with a baffled muffler?TIA

i prefer using a wizzerd'd wheel and making noticible dips in the surface running, then using some jb weld for a head gasket and some loctite for oil.

Flatliner, appreciate the offer but the car's going to my co-workers shop for $500 to just replace the gasket. Maybe later in the future I'll contact you for the performance upgrade. Thanks again.

sounds like you got quoted for head work for 800 bucks from rpmnyc
they are a great shop
ask them for resurfacing only, not a P&P and valve job
