might buy a car need help it ticks...
sup guys i might buy this 93 si hatch with a full ls swap gsr trani for 1800$ only problem is today i went to buy it and it ticks by the timing belt side i know its kinda hard for you guys to tell without listening to it but any input would help out alot.. Does sound really loud but loud enought to hear it. It does not have the full timing belt cover if that helps let me know what you guys think it could be thanks alot

inspect the timing belt for wear . no silly cover can mean a chip in the belt, a tick could also be a valve on number 1. it is common for number 1 and 4 to tick if a valve adjustment went wrong. questions certainly you should ask.

really loose? dont attempt to drive it then, you may hear it smacking on the lower cover, inspect it good, spin the belt by the motor all the way around, if it looks decent, above the crankshaft is a 1.5 inch plug in the cover , remove that, loosen the 14 mm bolt inside it by one turn, put a 12 mm wrench on the cam and move it one half tooth, tighten the 14mm bolt to 32 fp torque, hope that helps ya, easier said than done i know, if it jumps, let me know, .
