Default air conditioner

hi i was low on freon so i added one can...my ac worked ok before...the compressor was fine...now that the pressure for the freon is normal...the compressor keeps going on and off? what can this be?

sounds like its still short.....dont let it keep cutting on and off it will burn up the compressor it could be a sensor too

but the compressor was working fine before i put that one can in...would it also do this if there is too much...and when do you measure the psi for the low pressure..when the ac is on or off? because when its off its a bit too high but when its on..it is normal

the compressor clutch is probably dying...?? just take it to a shop.. they'll tell u whats the problem...

well i just let some out of the low pressur side and its back to normal...but nor really cold...its cold but not that cold

You need to check the pressure while the A/C is on full blast. Also make sure that the condensor fan is working. If the fan does not turn on the compressor tends to cut off. Check all your relays and fuses.

try holding the engine at 2k rpm, if the low side drops under 25-30 add more. Actually you should vaccum the system down. you obviously have a leak going on, get a leak detecter they are a hundred bucks for a cheap-o sniffer, fix your leak I suggest.
