ummm, yes you can paint a CF hood, or other CF parts. I have a friend with a 240sx that has had a painted CF hood for 7 years, still looks great!

lol, so if you have a green, or red, or blue car, and the hood is black, that's not ugly?

a carbon fiber hood on almost any color car with a matching lip (either black or carbon fiber) always looks nice. A carbon fiber hood doesnt get rock chips either from the road. A painted hood will. Millions of people on this site love the look of a carbon fiber hood with a front lip. Maybe not mines in paticular but a regular c/f hood yes..

A NA SOHC engine doesn't need a vented hood to cool what is - where the turbo isn't. A turbo generates a crapload of heat when the car is stopped. If your car were boosted, then I'd say the hood is tolerable.

But I've already determined that I hate the look of un-painted carbon fiber with any non-black car wearing a license plate. Even with a black car, I still think it looks bad. I don't think it looks as clean as a good paint job does. Painted CF body parts = anti-rice because it's hiding the lightweight modification. Pretty sleepy. You're the only one that needs to know about it anyway... right?

I'm probably a lot like your friend is with my own opinions, and you shouldn't take my opinion for squat unless you're having second thoughts about the hood yourself. Your car looks a little street-racer-ish to me. Especially if those are black steelies (can't tell). Cars that look that way tend to get unnecessary attention from the po po, and messed with by much faster cars.

It doesn't look like it's any older than a '95. You've kept it up.

EDIT: Ugh, saw the cardomain page. Lose the SOHC VTEC passenger airbag cover. You already know what it is.

Then keep the hood, and get it painted.

Oh, sorry bout that. Neither did I. I wasn't paying as much attention as I thought I was, and mixed up something from another conversation. My bad. :slap:
