hey guys. been saving up for a while now, and im ready to go all out. i have a 92 civic hatch Si. i have about $7000 to spend and i want to swap the engine and add add add. pretty knew into the scene, so im lookin for some experts to advise me on an engine, and all the goodies to add to it. and of course i will be researchin stuff myself, however, im not sure of good engine info sites. any and all feedback would be great, thanks.

 

If you have that much i think you may be able to pull of a k20 R swap.... not sure though.... i see prices varying from 7 to 8K.... is it worth it? yes if you have the money IMO. If you dont, then a Built NA gsr setup or Turbo....

but yeah, if you could pull off a K20 swap, thats a 12 second na setup right there

Thats a rip off, my friend just did it for $4,000, labor in a weekend on his own. (then he started to mod it, and got it tuned.)

 

ive spent 7k so far...

1800 for my car
2300 b18b swap from hmotors
600 for rims and tires
1100 homemade turbo kit
400 on intake mani, and plug wires
300 on suspension (bank acct hit rock bottom, so i sold the omnipowers for a crap subsititute)

that totals up to..6.5k and add in around 500 dollars for cornerlamps/oil/spark plugs/winter tires/polyurethane.

im satisfied.

 

If you know where i can get a K20 R engine from a reputable company please tell me. because the engine will cost you atleast 4K and at most ive seen 5.5K.... plus add misc. parts to that

BLAH BLAH lots of other little things here and there... But i highly highly doubt your friend got a K20 Type R engine and had it installed for less than 4K....


i can do this swap myself also, but with all the things needed that i would need to get it running, i know ill spend atleast 6.5K on engine/parts alone just to get it running the right way. No half assing it

with 7k.....as gimmicky as the K swap is....I have seen a k swapped EG with hondata pulling 12's NA.
