Engine Temp sensor

Engine Temp sensor
I recently purchased a 1995 honda del sol Si sohc vtec and just have a few questions about it.
1. Is it normal for the coolant temp gauge to go to the middle then back down occasionally? I mean it never ever overheats it just sits near the bottom then goes up to midway after heating up then cools back down. Just curious if anybody else had the same issues.
2. What oil would you guys reccomend using on my engine with 124,000 on it.

Welcome to HAN!!!
1. It has been my experience that Honda's run cool, just try a coolant flush and you'll see. That fan takes forever to come on... It's normal.
2. I use 5W30 Castrol Syntec with a Honda OE filter, seems to work fine for me.

Awesome! thanks for the welcome!, I was thinking it could be a corroded CTS, becuase I am getting a CEL. I'm going to check what the code is tomorrow. But it is running like a CHAMP!! This site is great, thanks alot.
