Default relieving fuel pressure?? need relpy soon

ok im taking off the throttle body and my book says to relieve the fuel pressure first and goes no further than that to tell me how. so thought i would ask you people how do i relieve my fuel pressure or should i not even worry about it?

just open the gas cap that will relieve a little, but i dont think its necessary to just to take off the TB

even if i did have to how would i relieve the full pressure tho for future reference so i dont have to make another thread about it.....thanks teg

You can also remove the fuel pump fuse or disconnect the connector to the fuel pump and then run the car until it dies because it's used up all the fuel. That's how I did it when I was changing my fuel filter.

thanks (:bowdown: westcoaststyle) ill keep that in mind....and im sure everyone will be happy to know that i was having a brake prob too with new pads it was making scraping noise everytime i would push in the pedal so far but i didnt come running to you guys til i looked at it and i ended up figuring it out:woowoo:

An easy way to relieve fuel pressure is to loosen the bolt atop the fuel filter and use a rag to catch any extra fuel. Very little in fact spills out. This relieves the fuel pressure as you asked but westcoaststyle goes a bit further and gets rid the fuel.
