Default What is better?

I am trying to decide on what is better for my 87 civic si hb and what will fit the best. A sohc vtec or a dohc d16a1? What one will fit better?

last time i checked all civics are accepted in this forum(i think)

Wrong. The Pre-92's have their own section to collect all the owners/enthusiasts in their own area. This makes it easier to post questions and get faster answers, kinda like how the

del Sol forum!

The 86-87 D16A1 engine and trans bolts in with the Integra knuckles, hubs, and axles.

The D16Z6 SOHC VTEC requires rewiring the car to OBD-1, a couple custom engine mounts, maybe custom axles (depends how the originals fit) and a few other things.

If you want an easy swap and two cams, get the D16A1. If you want to pull your hair out and eventually be driven to suicide... try to swap in a D16Z6.
