Cant Get Starter To Start. Please Look.

Well. I think I might have figured this out, but I need help.

Got a 95 DOHC VTEC DEL SOL

I turn over my key to start the car and my Main Relay is clicking, so action is happening, however the starter aint moving. I checked the starter at Autozone and had it tested and it works great, so im thinking mabye its the signal wire? What would cause that to not work? Is there an additional ground I need to look for? Where does it start from so I can check that, and also is there any like fuses for that as well?

Any help would be appreciated, especially some troubleshooting tips like, check to see if this is connected, if not, then there ya go, if so, check this instead. And no I dont have a Haynes =P

This is gonna sound dumb, but I've been bitten by this problem in the past:

Clean your battery terminals up really well. They may have a decent enough contact to power accessories/headlights/etc but not enough to allow the amperage the starter needs to turn.

Try the easy stuff first. You'll feel dumb going for the hard stuff and finding out it was something dumb.

are you sure you have both plugs connected on the starter? Also you can check to see if your clutch switch is good as well.

my car just did this and i spent about 8 hours total messin with shit, tracin wires, tightening connection and all that fun stuff. i posted my prob on this site and one of the first things i was told to try was the battery. i was stuborn and didnt think it was the battery but eventually i switched it with a good one and it fired right up. and if your battery is testing good for volts it could still be lacking the cranking amps to turn over that starter. so save yourself some time and just put a friends good battery in and test it out. also if its a manual push start it and take off the pos batt cable while its runnin if it quits then its your alternator....i ran into that one too

good luck

Voltage on battery should be checked while starter is on.
If I'm not wrong voltage shouldn't go below 7-8 volts.

This is the ultimate nightmare. I also failed to mention a few things:

The axles arent in the car yet, so push start I dont think will work.
This car used to have an Alpine Alarm system in it, I already found the main starter kill which is under the dash that splits the black/white ignition wire, cut that out and reconnected the wire. Is there another place I should look for starter kills?

Another thing: I noticed that when everything powers up, in accessory the srs comes on and off like it should however! The checking engine/oil pressure/etc.. things that are below my tach are either very very dim or dim and kinda blinking, but everything else works fine i.e. clock, air, headlights, fuel pump, radio.

I dont think its the relays anymore, now I know what they look like and where they are. So what is another reason why the starter isnt clicking?

Btw: How many cracking amps should I have, or whats the battery recommendation?

it doesnt matter what amps your running as long as its not like 50,000 or anything im running a 675 cranking amps and 750 cold crankers but you just need one that fits under your hood if thats where your battery is. seriously just try starting it with a good battery before you go checkin everything else.
