Im using Mothers Metal Polisher. Is that going to have any other type of affect than the other polishers out in the field?
I'll give it a go with 1000 grit sandpaper and see if that does anything then polish it using the elbow greese as I buff it out.
Don't any you guys wax it after its all finnished?

All this sanding of the lens makes small tiny scratches in the lens. Nomatter what you do it will never look like new or as clear as when it was new. This is a major problem with the damn lens being plastic. You can sand all you want using 2000 grit and it still wont ever get as clear as a new lens.

I hate how all the people here say "just sand the thing with sandpaper". So damn wrong.
If youve tried using buffing compounds and nothing works (have you tried blue magic?) your only option is to get a new lens. But, the jdm sir lens is no different than a usdm regular lens. CTR would be different, but not the Sir.
Just buy some really clean used ones somewhere and use their lenses.

You know a place where you can buy a used lens that are clear? I sure don't. Certainly not localy and I live in Orlando Florida. No junkyards even have 6th gen civics and if any do they are gutted to just the metal.
I just tried the 1500 and 2000 grit on areas that have never been touched and i then used the Meguires ScratX which is supposed to finnish it off. It gets cloudy while your wet sanding because your taking away the plastic and making tiny scratches. The end result didnt look all the impressive even after buffing it out. It still has a shade of the cloudy look but, you get close enough and you can see the faults.

If you have a car that is more than 1 year old chances are that you have already got tiny scratches on your lenses, genius. If you know how to sand and you have foggy lenses then you can fix them without buying new ones.

Sanding even with 2000grit is more noticable than the pebbles, dirt etc etc thats kicked up from the vehicles infront of you or Sand trucks etc etc.
Best thing to do is only sand down the area that needs it the most and dont touch the rest so it stays clear with no markings from the sandpaper. Thats all Im going to do. Saves me money that way even if it doesn't look perfect.
