Default b16 tranny advantage over gsr tranny?

im lookin at gettin this swap from a guy a town over and he said that it was a gsr motor with a b16 tranny. is there a reason he has the b16 tranny instead of the regular gsr one?

do u think that under 3000 is a good deal for the swap, considering there is no tax or shipping or anything, i believe it has ?aem? headers and hasport mounts and maybe a few other mods.

thanks a lot
adam

b16a tranny is more closely geared to the ITR trans. The down side is higher revs on the freeway, but it is a "faster" tranny than the GSR.

sounds like a good deal to me. There isn't really a tremendous difference between the b16a tranny and the b18c one... the b16a is just a litte shorter.
