4 door has lower insurance
Civic has higher insurance

I personally would get a 97 or 98 4 door Accord since your parents are paying. Insurance is going to be cheaper, and being larger than an Accord you'd be a little bit more safe.

First, welcome to H-A-N. So you're 18, I remember when I was that age back in 88. Anyways, if you want something safe & fun you can look at a 02 up Civic Si hatch or Acura RSx base model or Type S. Can you drive a stick. Do you know what the most & the least amount your parents would pay. If say 25K get the RSX & say 20K get the Si hatch. About ricing (alteezas/stickers) do what you have the money for & what you like.I personally like the alteezas & stickers. If you ask me what's not worth the money which will play out are" Body Kits" & Lambo Doors. Good luck & post what you get . Hollar

i wouldnt get a civic for a first car, i'd always suggest a beater american car for a first car before any other car

after about 300 hours or so on the read get rid of that and get another car... that way you will apprreciate the car you have after you've had your beginners fun and crack ups with the other car

depends on your budget.. like me im broke so my first car was a 90 standard hatch with the 70 hp engine.. it saved alot of gas and was pretty quick after some bolt ons and weight reduction. bought if for 900, sold it for 750 . boy i shoulda kept it for a b series!!

Civic hatches are the lightest incarnation of the Civic, makes them potentially better handlers and the fastest accelerators (with the right modifications).
