Hi. I've got a deal on magnaflow catback exhaust system for my 01 civic. The guy wants me to pay $285 delivered to my door (brand new with warranty). What do you guys think? And also, is it worth the money? I'm not too familiar with magnaflow and thats why I need your help. Thanks.

 

i got a magnaflow and its great. pretty loud tho.

 

Is $285 a good price though? And regarding the sound, I hope it is not the annoying loud you're talking about.

 

no its not like a coffe can it sounds good but its loud if your outside the car. 285 is good for the cat back i tink i paid 300 or so for mine

 

Will it make me fail the smog test? If not, what would?

 

dont take your cat off and it wont effect the smog test at all.

 

magnaflows arent that loud, i had one on my civic. they're pretty good quality exhausts and i never had a problem with mine. good luck with it if you get it

 

my brother had a magnaflow muffler. before vtec it wasnt too loud and had a nice tone to it. after vtec it would scream like a lady going through child birth. :eek3: :chuckles:

 

So if I put this exhaust on my civic it will pass the smog test unless I buy high flow cat to it? Will a high flow cat make any difference? I'm confused.

 

you probly wont pass smog with a new cat especially here in cali. if you're trying to get the freeiest flowing exhaust possible without resorting to a test pipe, then yes a high flow cat may be worth it to you.
