well since you think a tranny conversion is too much money, there isnt really any other alternative to make you civic faster other than to just sell it and buy a 5 speed. an engine swap would be too much for you, a turbo would also be too much money for you. you could go nitrous but....oh nevermind.

a tranny swap is not too much money...im doing one right now in an auto 93 civic ex for a friend. he paid 250 shipped for a complete 5 spd tranny with oem clutch w/ 60k miles. also included was everything needed such as shift linkage, cables, manual virgin ecu, tranny, clutch, flywheel, center console (w/ shifter) and all neccessary clamps, bolts, and brackets. just search around bro you will find it. also, i know there are plenty of guys on here that have auto to manual conversions.

also, you will never get anywhere with simple bolt-ons. do either ls/vtec and tranny swap or turbocharge your d-series but run only a couple lbs of boost with stock internals. or you will be spending the hard way...believe me.

Turbo, upgrade torque converter and ATF cooler. Well I've heard that will help an auto with boost.

you can do a torque converter but building up an automatic is very difficult to do. honda AT were not meant to be power houses. do a tranny swap and then you can start off from there. believe me, there are too many people that try to build up their little 1.5L autos to some big dragster. its not going to happen. If you do plan on doing turbo, your motor will not last very long if you stay with the automatic transmission. take my word for it. do what i stated here or above, i have experience in this area. OR, you could always just save the trouble and sell the damn thing and get a 5 spd. your choice bro, good luck
