Default Vtec Engagement problem

My friends '99 Si is having some problems with his Vtec engagement. I has 75,000 miles and all of them were hard earned, the car has always been beat. Anyway's, when he was in third gear, Vtec kicked in and when he started to make a left winding turn it disengaged, then straightened the wheel, it kicked in and then a right turn and disengagement yet again. He makes this turn on his way to work everyday and it just started doing it. I have no clue, but maybe CivicSI racer, cause you be takin those crazy turns and hittin Vtec at the same time. Please let me know, any suggestions would help. thanks

I'll see if I can find more info on the solenoid thing, and I'll tell him to check that oil. And Fuji, you dont even have Vtec, so stay out of it:fawk: j/k, anyway thanks for the tips

vtec "turns on" when the car is hot enough...if the oil isnt warmed up it wont be on.
